number 1 part 1

Oh no, I thought. This can't be happening. I saw the man in front of me, a couple feet away, with bloodlust in his eyes.. We were standing in an ally, me, panting, with no way out but the way I came, him with his hand in his jacket pocket. He was advancing towards me, pulling a gun from his pocket.
I only faintly remember what had just happened. I had walked by him a block back down the street. He'd stopped in front of me, pulled me closer to him. He had said something about going back to his place. An internal instinct had made me bring my knee up and he'd doubled over. I'd started running, only to turn into this dead end.
He was bringing the gun up, holding it at arms length. It felt like it was going in slow motion. I knew he wasn't going to think for one second if I said anything. I knew I was going to die, right then and there. I closed my eyes and prayed that, even though I was gone, my family and friends wouldn't forget me.
I waited a moment for the loud bang and then the pain was instant. It threw me against the wall and I crumpled to the ground. The man had a good aim. I knew death was coming. Goodbye Mom and Dad. Good bye Sara, Emily. Thank you for all for being there for me. I love you.
I took my last gasp of a breath and slowly...drifted...away.

....(to be continued)
